U.S. Inc. Screenplay

Joel Michalak’s futuristic satire screenplay about capitalism in America, U.S. Inc., has placed in the semifinals for Filmmatic Comedy Screenplay Awards for Comedy and in ScreenCraft‘s Comedy Contest, and made it to the finals in the 2020 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards.

From one review:
“This is a wonderfully fun and original story filled with wry humor, social commentary, and incredibly unique characters. The plot presents an almost Wizard of Ozian quest by the lovable and relatable Zaidee to find her sister in a fabricated Mall of America type electronically-enhanced virtual city of Ameritown. The prose, dialogue, and story beats have a clever, witty feel similar to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and the writer keeps you on your toes by continually ramping up the absurdity, while at the same time giving us impactful commentary on consumerism and social media mania.”
